Paediatric Physiotherapy

Paediatric physiotherapists are specifically trained to improve the quality of life and daily activities of children, aged birth through adolescence, who are experiencing functional limitations or disability due to trauma or who may suffer from various conditions ranging from cerebral palsy to neuromuscular disorders.

Treatment typically focuses on improving gross and fine motor skills; strength training; balance and coordination – all focused on achieving the child’s individual developmental milestones which are assessed using standardized testing for age equivalents.

To optimize quality of life, the physiotherapist along with the child and family, will develop a range of individual techniques and treatments so that the both the patient and family can practice as and when the situation requires.
